When my wife and I decided to combine our families (she has 2 girls and I have 2 girls), we decided we needed a larger car. My Corolla, nor my Mustang could comfortably haul all 6 of us around without taking 2 cars everywhere. So after searching around for a car in our price range, we didn't want a car payment. We located this 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon with 135,000 miles on it. It had the optional 3rd row seating.
So after some negotiation, we drove away for $1,450 out the door. The car needed some work, but we were willing to put the time and effort into the car. After all we didn't have a car payment.
The purpose of this blog is to document our life with our 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo. I will be blogging about the things we replace, the troubles we encounter and what we did to overcome them. My wife has affectionately called our Volvo - "V-Lo" since she has a big square back end. lol
Note: We bought this car in November 2010. So the next several posts are things we have done or encountered over the past year.
